Lifestyle Changes When You Are Diagnosed With Diabetes

-Be mindful when you're cooking. Try to use less oil, less salt. Experiment with vegetables or fruit, and healthy spices like turmeric, garlic, onion. These 3 spices alone have several health benefits even for those without diabetes.


-cut back on sugary beverages and foods and drink more water to flush out the unhealthy nutrients


-find a way to enjoy exercising whether that be walking, swimming, going up and down steps, wall push-ups. Tip: talk to someone while you exercise and you will do even more than you expected. This can be on the phone or in a group, or invite a friend to exercise with you!
